Welfare Call Extranet
The EXTRANET is a database that holds the details of the geographic whereabouts of
Looked After Children for local authorities.
Welfare Call (LAC) Ltd currently monitors the school attendance of over 18000 children
for over 70 English authorities.
The extranet allows these authorities to log on a secure
website and find details of three categories’ of Looked After Children:-
- Where a looked after child belonging to an authority, but located outside that authority, can be found by authority and/or child age.
- The schools any looked after children attend within their own authority.
- Any children attending schools within an authority but belonging to another authority, (OLA).
This information can be valuable with respect to the pupil premium payments, the pep protocols and related issues.
Welfare Call (LAC) Ltd have contacted all non existing customer authorities with a view to entering details of all of their Looked After Children to build up a complete picture of where all Looked After Children are within the uk. This would be at a negligible cost to the authorities who currently do not use Welfare Call (LAC) Ltd for attendance monitoring.
We feel a National data base showing where looked after children are being schooled will be invaluable to authorities throughout the country as well as a useful Government aid, especially with the early intervention initiative headed by Tim Loughton on behalf of the coalition Government.
