Coming Together for Our Community: Supporting Barnsley Foodbank This Christmas
At Welfare Call, we’re proud to be based in Barnsley, and even prouder to play a small part in supporting the community around us.
Today, two carloads of donations from our staff were delivered to the Barnsley Foodbank, just in time for the festive season. From long-life staples to Christmas treats, our team came together to help make sure families in our hometown don’t go without this winter.
The Barnsley Foodbank does incredible work all year round, but demand is especially high at Christmas. When someone turns to a food bank, it’s because they’ve run out of options. No one should have to rely on a food parcel, but sadly, thousands of people across the country will need one in the weeks ahead.
As a company that supports local authorities and schools working with vulnerable children and families, we understand the pressures that many face behind the scenes. The same financial strain that brings a parent to a food bank is often the same challenge that affects school attendance, engagement, and wellbeing. It’s all connected.
That’s why giving back locally matters to us, not just at Christmas but all year round.
